Escape Ordinary, Be Wild!

My name is Amelia Sprong

I was raised in Malawi, and I was lucky enough to be born into the legacy that is Land & Lake Safaris. Spending my childhood in the wilderness, camping across Central Africa with my family. After completing my degree in illustration, of all things, I travelled to South Africa and completed the FGASA professional field Guide course and returned to Malawi. I started in the company full time as a guide, moving up then into junior reservations, then senior reservations, I then moved into the Operations Manager role and then head of Sales and Marketing.

Now, 12 years in the company and being involved in every aspect of it, I sit as the Director alongside my father.

I have designed and operated trips across the region, accompanying either as the head guide or the back-up driver and chef on remote expeditions.

Often driving routes solo during my holidays, I've traveled alone across South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and of course Malawi.

One thing I realized on my travels is how many other women who grew up in Africa and in the industry do the same, and how many outside of Africa may wish to join such an expedition. So, I'm excited to introduce a new way to travel!

Join me on annual scheduled and ever changing expeditions, centered around adventure and exploration. But if you're like me, not every holiday needs to be bucket showers and camping. So alongside our adventure itineraries is an annual wellness getaway, focused on mental and physical wellbeing in my home, the Warm Heart of Africa.
