Built from over 4o Years in the industry
The Wild Collective was born from nearly four decades of exploring, protecting and sharing the wild places of Southern Africa. Built on the foundations of Land & Lake Safaris, a family business established in 1986, our journey has taken us from pioneering expeditions and tailor-made safaris to discovering hidden cottages, independent lodges, remarkable guides and unforgettable experiences that deserve to be seen. Along the way, we’ve built trusted relationships with property owners, conservationists, communities and tourism professionals across the region. Today, The Wild Collective brings that network together under one roof—a carefully curated collection of places to stay, adventures to experience and businesses we’re proud to stand behind. Whether you’re searching for your next escape or looking for a trusted partner to represent your property or tourism business, you’re in the hands of people who genuinely know the landscape, the industry and the stories that make this part of Africa so extraordinary.

Founded by Mark & Angela Sprong through the success and growth of Land & Lake Safaris - The Wild Collective brings family heritage, history and experience to the future of tourism. With the focus on preserving areas with equally important family and history ties. Mark and Angela still stand as the CEO's of the company remotely from South Africa. With their experience in building and operating lodges across Malawi and Zambia, catering, mobile tours, hosting, building itineraries, quoting systems and individually and successfully operating their own companies together with being the founders of the Lilongwe Wildlife Trust - The knowledge and expertise they bring is essential to success.

The Wild Collective is led by two people who have built their careers around adventure, conservation and creating exceptional experiences in the outdoors.
Our story began over a decade ago when we met while training as professional safari guides in South Africa. What started as a shared passion for the African wilderness grew into a lasting friendship and, eventually, a professional partnership. Eleven years later, Ollie and his wife made the move to Malawi to join the Land & Lake Safaris family, where Ollie now leads operations and helps shape the future of The Wild Collective.
Ollie brings an exceptional breadth of practical experience to the team. Alongside being a qualified walking safari guide, he has extensive knowledge of construction and infrastructure development, making him instrumental in lodge improvements, property development and project management. His qualifications in scuba diving, mountain climbing and a wide range of outdoor pursuits reflect a lifelong passion for adventure and an ability to turn ambitious ideas into reality.
Amelia represents the second generation of Land & Lake Safaris, the family business established in 1986. Having grown up immersed in African tourism, she now leads the company as Managing Director, combining decades of family knowledge with a fresh vision for the future. Her expertise spans destination management, tourism development, marketing, business strategy and property representation, with a passion for connecting travellers to authentic experiences while helping independent tourism businesses thrive.
Together, we combine nearly forty years of company heritage with modern thinking, practical expertise and an extensive network throughout Southern Africa. Whether we’re developing a property, representing a tourism business or creating unforgettable journeys, we believe in building genuine partnerships that benefit both travellers and the remarkable places they visit.
